My name is Horatio Baltz and I’m a fiction and non-fiction filmmaker and photographer. I am based in Los Angeles but currently working in New Orleans. I am Second-Generation Vietnamese-American.

I am an active member of the film collective The Filmshop, a documentary shorts programming co-captain at Slamdance Film Festival, a member of the documentary community The Video Consortium & producer of The Playback, and member of the photo community Diversify Photo.

I have received mentorship from Werner Herzog and Alec Soth. My work has appeared on PBS, in the New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Noisey, Billboard, and as a Vimeo Staff Pick. 

My films have screened internationally and have won top prizes at DOC NYC, Kansas City Film Festival, North Bend Film Festival, and Palm Springs ShortsFest.

I am the recipient of the 2020 Rooftop Films Kayla Thomas Grant and was a jury member for the 2019 Palm Springs ShortsFest Best North American Short Film Prize. 

My clients include David Chang, NIKE, LeBron James, Champs Sports, NBC, ABC, HBO/Cinemax, FX, Vogue, and Facebook.
